Indian Chicken Popcorn 65 Recipe

Description: Crunchy bite-sized chicken pieces marinated in a flavorful blend of spices and deep-fried to perfection, inspired by the famous Chicken 65.

Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into small cubes
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 2 tablespoons corn flour
  • 2 tablespoons rice flour
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Curry leaves and green chilies for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Chicken:

    • In a bowl, combine ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, corn flour, rice flour, yogurt, and salt.
    • Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and mix well. Allow it to marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  2. Fry the Chicken:

    • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
    • Once the oil is hot, add the marinated chicken pieces in batches, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
    • Fry until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  3. Serve:

    • Garnish with curry leaves and sliced green chilies.
    • Serve hot as an appetizer or snack, optionally with a side of mint chutney or sauce of your choice.
